Savannah Honey Beekeeping Centre today hosted a delegation from the Turkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with TWLEN CBO for a strategic engagement focused on transforming livelihoods through modern beekeeping.

The visit brought together key stakeholders from Turkana County, all united by a shared vision of expanding economic opportunities for youth, women, and pastoralist communities through climate-smart apiculture. The delegation met with CEO Kyalo Mutua, where they explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at scaling beekeeping across Turkana’s arid and semi-arid landscapes.

Discussions centered on how beekeeping can serve as a powerful tool for economic empowerment in Turkana County. Key areas of focus included:

The hands-on tour provided the delegation with a clear understanding of what it takes to build a successful beekeeping enterprise and how similar models can be replicated in Turkana County.
