SAVANNAH HONEY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES BUNGOMA COUNTY BEEKEEPING CAPITAL SUPPORT & TRAINING PROGRAM

BUNGOMA COUNTY, KENYA

Savannah Honey, the Beekeeper’s Partner, has successfully concluded a transformative beekeeping empowerment program across all sub-counties of Bungoma County. The initiative, which offered free training and access to capital support, equipped hundreds of groups and individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to turn beekeeping into a sustainable and profitable enterprise.

The program, which ran from 20th to 28th July 2026, attracted a diverse range of participants, including Youth Groups, Women Groups, Self-Help Groups, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Cooperatives, and individual farmers. Sessions were held at the DCC’s Compound in each sub-county, with two sessions daily at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Highlights of the Program

Over the eight-day outreach, participants received:

Information on capital support for beekeeping start-ups and expansion

Training in modern beekeeping techniques and best practices

Insights into the business opportunities within the honey value chain

Practical, hands-on guidance from Savannah Honey experts

Knowledge on how to turn beekeeping into a sustainable, income-generating enterprise
